The 2008 Chitlin Strut Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday,
November 15th. The applications will be available for that in September.

This year the second annual Chitlin Strut Idol Contest

This internationally known festival is
located in the quiet, southern town of Salley, South Carolina
(population 410) and is held annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Each year approximately 25,000 visitors converge on Salley to celebrate
one of the more unusual food items available, chitterlings.
Quite simply, chitterlings (or chitlin's) are fried pig intestines and
have been a southern tradition for over one-hundred years. |
