Chitlin Strut Day in South Carolina
In April 2015, Mr. Bill Taylor, our House of Representatives member, invited the Mayor and Salley Town Council to come to the S.C. State House. The next month, Mayor Bob Salley, Councilmember Mark Hartley, Councilmember Marion Milhouse, Jr., Councilmember Paul Salley and the Clerk/Treasurer Rebecca Brown were able to go. Councilmember Jerry Griswold could not attend due to work.
Representative Taylor read the House Resolution aloud that states in honor of this year being the 50th anniversary of the Chitlin Strut, the House of Representatives has declared November 28th, 2015 as Chitlin Strut Day in South Carolina. He presented the Mayor and Council with a framed copy.
In like manner, the Mayor, Town Councilmember's and Clerk/Treasurer were invited to the S.C. Senate side of the General Assembly where Senator Nikki Setzler read a similar Resolution.
Below are pictures from that day.
